Have run as admin, reinstalled, re-downloaded and reinstalled, run virus scans, etc. Nothing.

I got the same problem in 4 PCS !!!! in different PLACES , so this make me things is something about I.P or SERVER PROBLEM , my country is ARGENTINA , i have try everything, reistall the game , do Manual Patch , due the "DragonSabre" run as Admin , desactive firewalls a & antivirus , Compatible versions , etc in 4 pc they got WIN 7 if that can help , they got the lastest update on drivers since they are gamers PCS i hope this help .....

Well what i do is this read this carefully do it step by step

1. uninstall the game remove it complety all folderes everthing
2. Turn of ur antivirus any do u have
3. Install the game in Program Files folder not the (X89) folders or whatever its calls
4. Go to ur firewalls add in the excepcion list all this files : fxlauch.exe , on updater_ folder add this ( fxupdate.exe,) updater folder ( add this fxupdate.exe) aswell , on SnailRes folder add ( SnailRes.exe) , Bin folder ( add this ones fxgames.exe , bugreport.exe,iepop.exe) inside this folder u will find another folder GPK CLICK ON IT ( and add this file very important AutoUI.exe)

when u do this go back to the Age of wushu main folder do left click on Fxlaunch , go to properties and click on compatibity click on Service Pack 3 Win XP , click Apply and accept

Now go to Updater_ (folder and do the same with fxupdate.exe) Only this 2 archive need to do so dont do it on the others archive ...

when u done go to the Fxlauch.exe and do left click and run as Administrator

NOTE: IF U WANT TO RUN THE GAME WITH THE ANTIVIRUS , add all the archive above to the execpcion folder , otherwise the next time u run the game with the antivirus active it will delate everyexcutable archive it founds as a false positive..

Other recomendation safe ur Age of wushu setup folder in ur pendrive so u wont have to donwload the game again if anything got delate by the antivirus . do not run Set up folder from ur pentdrive cause the antivirus if is active will delete the archive inside ur pentdrive aswell ... so the smart move is turn off ur antivirus before u pùt ur pendrive , copy the folder to ur desktop and do all i say above hope this help

Same issue. as the OP. (WayAbvPar)

No this didn't fix my problem, even though I went to the extent of deactivating my firewall.

The latest error it pops into my face is "exe" not found. No my antivirus doesn't delete anything itself. It raises an alert and prompts me to take action. Besides, I had scanned the installer files and the drive manually at every step. So the false positive thing doesn't seem to be effecting me. To be sure I checked the AV logs as well.

and no I didn't save in c:/Program Files/

I use a non-windows HDD for games.

I'm sure the developer after so many years of development won't let their game be subject to an error that belonged in the era of GW Basic, DOS and windows 3.1.

Nopes. This is about downloading the game.

I have downloaded the game. (v12)

Updated the game (v37).

The error I'm getting, as shown in the OP screenshot. is with the game loader.

Same here. This is really annoying and I have tried EVERYTHING. It's not working.

I had the same issue tried everything listed above and nothing worked, I noticed that none of the embedded website stuff loaded either and by default i use Firefox as my web browser. I just loaded Internet explorer to make sure it was working (never used on this pc before) ignored the question about making it the default browser and tried to load the game and it worked afterwards.

On windows 8 as I forgot to mention that.
